Review: Botkier Rose Satchel

February 25, 2008

I cannot say enough how lovely this bag is. I haven’t loved Botkier recently, not since their first year, really, so I didn’t expect to find anything current that really spoke to me. But the moment I saw this one, I knew I needed it. And I don’t normally “go” for black bags, but this [...]

Review: James Perse Top & Qara Clutch

February 21, 2008

I love James Perse. I now own 14 James Perse tops and 2 dresses – including this one I just received from Tobi. It’s much too thin to wear now, but I can see this being a wardrobe staple this Summer. I love the banding at the bottom, which gives it some shape, and actually [...]

Review: Loyale Organic Cotton Jacket

February 1, 2008

If you’ve been reading Grechen’s Closet lately, you’ve probably noticed that I’ve focused a lot of attention on “Eco-Chic” and ethical shopping. I’ve been following many of the online pioneers of eco-friendly fashion (both designers and boutiques) for the last several years, and am so pleased to see the niche getting attention and the designers [...]

Review: Hayden-Harnett Havana Hobo in Gray

December 25, 2007

I’ve been a fan of Hayden-Harnett since they started out, in fact I was one of the first owners of a Havana Hobo and was honored to do a review! They’ve come a LONG way since springing onto the scene, and their bags have only gotten better. I had been itching for a gray leather [...]

Review: Tory Burch Pink Patent Revas

December 19, 2007

So, after I posted about my obsession with Tory Burch’s resort collection Pink Patent Reva Ballet Flats last week, I decided to order them; they’re just the pop of color my Winter wardrobe needs. (and Spring/Summer/Fall wardrobes for that matter) I have found that I’m wearing jeans and black/gray ALL THE TIME…mostly because I love [...]

Review: Jenny Yuen Gatsby Bag

November 7, 2007

Jenny Yuen has been on our radar for a little while, and finally her line has been picked up by several online boutiques including Delcina – the only place where you can pre-order the Gatsby Bag in Sapphire. And now that your humble fashion editor/blogger has gotten her hands on one, they’ll be flying out [...]

Review: J Brand Kat Wideleg Jeans

September 19, 2007

These are the first high-end jeans I’ve purchased in almost two years…I thought it was time for a denim update. About a month ago, I did buy some gap jeans; the Long & Lean and Bootcut styles. I like them, but there’s always something ‘off’ with Gap jeans, so they’re never my go-to jeans of choice. I still wear my Goldsign Desire jeans the most, they are my favorites, and I think they flatter my butt more than any other pair I own. But I knew I needed to update my selection of pants/jeans, so I decided to give these a try.

Review: Mike & Chris Tunic

July 25, 2007

If you’ve been reading Grechen’s Closet for any amount of time, you’ll remember when I bought almost all the DarylK and DarylK for Co-Op pieces I could find – they just “fit” me and my style perfectly. Now, I’ve moved on to Mike & Chris; I think I need everything. I love the fabric, the [...]

Review: C&C California Dress + Malababa Handbag

June 25, 2007

First, the bag…I have been wanting a light/white bag for quite some time, but was very nervous to pull the trigger because I know how dirty they can get. When I had the opportunity to get this one for 20% off, I decided I should take it – and I had been looking at this [...]

Review: Trovata + Lauren Merkin Bag

April 25, 2007

A few more things from my Active Endeavors order last week – along with the Mike & Chris hoody posted below. The Trovata Aft Short Sleeve Hoody (I seriously have a thing for hoodies), and the Lauren Merkin Dylan Handbag. I love Trovata, but hadn’t purchased anything from the line until now. They really have [...]

Review: Robert Clergerie Shoes

April 25, 2007

I have owned five pairs of Robert Clergerie shoes (counting these) and I cannot rave enough about them. Yes, they are pricey (about $450 a pair), but they are always my go-to shoes; I wear them ALL THE TIME. As I’ve mentioned before, I shop & buy strictly on Cost-per-wear, not initial cost. Anyway, I [...]

Review: Mike & Chris Taylor Hoody

April 16, 2007

I wore this Mike & Chris hoody yesterday with jeans and I’m wearing it again today like this – over a James Perse Tube Dress from last year. I had been looking at this for a while, and finally took the plunge and ordered it from Active Endeavors last week. It’s perfect. With my body [...]

Review: Loeffler Randall Handbag

April 16, 2007

It’s another bag!! I couldn’t resist the chance to try one of Loeffler Randall’s first bags from their brand new handbag line, so I decided to give the Kitty bag a try. I must admit, it looked very ‘interesting’ online, and without having seen it in person, I was a little wary of what it [...]
