Since it’s recently dropped below 100 degrees here, I can start to wrap my head around the possibility of wearing long sleeves sometime in the not-so-distant future. Maybe; I get VERY hot just thinking about it!
But just for a moment, let me dream of Fall…

Ribbed jewel neck tee in dark teal (this color makes me weak in the knees) – $65. This shirt reminds me of my ribbed long sleeve tees from last year, but it’s 100% cotton, which I like better. I loved the fit of the nylon/cotton ones, but hated that the sleeves stretched out so much if I had to push them up at all…

I think I tried on a very similar version of this dress at the JAMES PERSE OUTLET!!!!!!!!!! recently, and I loved it for Fall. It’s a bit short for me to wear without tights/leggings, but bring on the colder weather, and I will TOTALLY be rocking this. With a belt, of course.

I’m not sure this pull-on wrap skirt is “for me,” but I love the look. And the color.
What do you think? What colors are you craving for Fall?
The Alexander Wang darcy Hobo in black is the Daily Deal at Satine (marked down to $765) AND if you use code “grechens10″ you’ll save an additional 10% off, bringing the bag down to $688. I dare you to find a better deal anywhere else. I also can’t recommend this bag enough. I have the “luggage” version and have been wearing it all the time; it’s very easy to carry because of the thick shoulder strap, and although some may consider it to be a “heavy” bag, I hardly notice the weight because it’s so easy to carry.

Anyway, if you can, and you need the PERFECT black bag with a little edge, splurge on this one. You won’t be sorry
Have you seen the new Nordstrom?

They made much ado about the site redesign over the weekend, and I’ve just had a chance to look it it. It’s interesting. I think I like it, but I’m a fan of very minimal, easy to use design. It doesn’t seem very conducive to just “browsing” though, do you think? I kind of feel like I have to know already where I want to go when I get there; which I usually do – I go straight to James Perse, or the Savvy Department
– although I do think it takes too many clicks to get to either of those places…
But I do like the simple layout and larger images.

I was particularly interested in the “Conversation” tab – being the twitter addict I am
– and think it has a lot of potential, but I do wish they’d allow you to know a bit more about the posters/contributors in the Fashion Forum by either having a profile, or directly linking the username to their blog. I would participate if I had the incentive that people could click directly back to Grechen’s Closet or at least access my site via a profile on Nordstrom.com.
What do you think? Have you given it a spin yet? Do you think it’s better than the previous version of the site? Or should they have left well enough alone?
I’ve never been one for very structured bags; I always prefer at least a little slouch, but while checking out some of the new Rachel Comey arrivals at twentythirtyforty I fell in love with this:

I think what I love most about it (besides the color) is that it has a handle and a strap. Genius. But I also couldn’t help but think I should be able to find something similar for much less money on etsy – either handmade or vintage – and look what I found:

This one was my favorite by que jiminez, although I’d prefer a different color, and might be able to do without the heart. But she can do that!! And it’s only $245, half the price of the Rachel Comey.
What do you think of saddlebags? Do you prefer structure or slouch in your bags?
