I could not be more serious.

T by Alexander Wang Asymmetrical Hem dress at Shopbop: $175

Why?

  1. the color: I didn’t think I could pull this off, but it’s darker than some of the “nude” colors out there lately and looks great with my pale skintone
  2. the fit: INSANE. I mean…I took a size medium and it’s perfect. The modal/spandex blend is heavier than some, so it drapes beautifully, and feels amazing when you walk. (look at this video at saks, you’ll see what I mean). Since I’m short, it comes down to the floor on me, so I’ll wear it with heels, but if I want to wear flats with it, I can tie up the longer side I think, so it won’t drag on the floor.
  3. it’s not sheer: the modal/spandex blend is NOT see-through, so you wouldn’t HAVE to wear a slip, although I always do.
  4. the price: it’s not cheap, but after I put this dress on, I wanted to live in it forever and ever and ever. It looks amazing with a cardigan or cropped jacket, and on it’s own, although there’s too much bra showing for my taste, I’d wear a tank underneath, and will transition perfectly through EVERY season. I’d like to at least have another one in black, and maybe the gray too ;)

I don’t have an outfit picture wear it yet, but I did wear it out to dinner last night with my friends Marcus and Sari (Marcus, by the way has this Yarnz scarf I posted about a while ago and made me crave it ALL over again…it looked amazing on him ;) ) with my LOFT cropped jacket on top and my Prada sport wedges + Alexander Wang donna bag. I was in heaven all night.

**edited: after much demand, I posted a quick review with IRL pictures :)

The dress is available in Sienna and Black at Shopbop and at Madison Los Angeles (use code “GRECHEN” for 15% off!!!), Gray at La Garconne, and Dessert at Saks.

Please post pictures of you wearing the dress! It looks like a sack on the model but you make it sound so amazing, it must just be the model!

WOW! I totally want that now in black. Can’t wait to see it on you. And how did I not know about Saks having runway moving pics/video now? I was shocked!
