My view from the couch in my office…
I think I’m going to take a short break today. Maybe for a few days? No reason why, really, just that I want to. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and Christmas if you celebrate! My step-son arrived yesterday and Leo made latkes for lunch and shnitzel for dinner; we’re getting plenty of fried food for Hanukkah in for sure…And we saw Rogue One yesterday too – it was very good.
Enjoy some time off! You don’t need a reason. 😉
Moving over Thanksgiving really took a lot out of me…and my company has a shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s, which I am so grateful for right now. My 13-year-old son is in Florida for Hanukkah and I’m dog-sitting his dog (a Schnauzer-poodle mix) and I think it has permanently cured me of wanting a second dog. 😉
we want a second dog SO BAD. i want a yorkie 🙂
but dagny is such a handful to walk and we don’t have a yard or a way to just let her out, and i can’t imagine walking HER and another dog, so we’re trying to wait until we can find a place with a yard…but i really want her to have a playmate. but then again, i’m not sure how she would react either. i suppose dog sitting is a good way to find out!!
moving is tough anyway, even more when it’s around holiday time. enjoy your time off!! and i will try to enjoy some time off too. although in reality i can’t really take any time off, because i have to do some things with slowre. so time off from grechen’s closet to focus on slowre i guess!
Enjoy your break, meditate or visualize and relax. We’re going to Rogue One this week with Anna, so it’ll be her 3rd time! Fantasy geek!!!
Our 12 year old boxer passed away last September, (rescue) and my husband decided he wanted a puppy – so in February, we got a puppy – which is more work than I realized (and my goodness she has energy) – in July husband was transferred, we finally all moved to the same city in November and ended up with another dog (I couldn’t say no and her parents were moving to Alaska) – so now we have two dogs, one of which is still a puppy and we no longer have a fenced yard – long story short – ITS A TON OF WORK! We do long walks twice a day and many little outside trips, But I wouldn’t change it – our puppy loves the new older dog and the new older dog seemed to have gotten younger – it’s been great for everyone involved.
Side note – linen sheets are on major sale in many places – I know you mentioned possibly wanting them – I still wouldn’t look back and we are still using them this winter – I love my The Company Store ones, but I know a reader said she thought they weren’t that nice – but it may make the purchase easier – not that I am trying to encourage!
Enjoy the time off – I am tracking down a sample of the Le Labo Rose now based off of another one of your posts – my new town DEFINITELY won’t have a stockist so I may try and visit the shop in Dallas you mentioned! Or I may just have to stay at a Fairmont which has always been on my bucket list!
oh!! when you’re in dallas you MUST go and visit forty five ten’s new store downtown – i think i mentioned they carry le labo, but there’s also a stand alone le labo store nearby, although i’d recommend just going to forty five ten. it’s so worth it; it’s a beautiful store, building, everything about it is just a wonderful experience. they’ve also just opened their restaurant which i’m dying to try when i feel fancy for lunch LOL
thanks for the linen sheets reminder! i’ll see what i can find.
i love your dog story 🙂 the more i think about a second dog, i think it’s probably a better idea to also wait until dagny’s a little older, so she’s a little more ‘settled’? i don’t know. she’s just such a handful, with her anxiety and energy level as it is…
Your dog is adorable! I just adopted a feral kitten from work. She’s super cute and sweet but still shy as she’s basically wild and wary so she won’t be posing for any pictures yet. I’ve taken care of adult dogs/cats and a puppy before but this is my first feral kitten. It’s different than trying to socialize a dog. I’m supposed to be on holiday all of this week but am busy with year-end closing so working 1/2 day every other day or so. Enjoy your rest and Happy New Year.
