Of course I’d seen these corset clogs out on the No6 site, but until I saw them in real life yesterday, I wasn’t convinced they’d be really cute on. But then I saw them on Emily, from Feathers Vintage boutique here in Austin, and now I’m totally smitten. She has the rust color (which is probably the color I’d get) and was wearing them with black skinny jeans and a flowy floral top; SO CUTE that I wish I’d had my camera…
She took her normal size (37=7, 38=8, etc.), which is what I’d recommend also, and says they’re really comfortable. It was so funny – I walked into the boutique (and I was wearing my No6 clogs), we saw each other, and I immediately asked her if she was wearing No6 clogs – and she was wondering the same thing of me! Small world, huh? I’ve actually met quite a few people recently who are just as addicted to clogs as I am, which is fun. But dangerous, because now I MUST HAVE THE CORSET CLOGS!!!!

This was not exactly my outfit for the day, but it is now my FAVORITE DRESS EVER. (thanks to my wonderful father who is visiting for the week.) We went over to the Domain again (yes, I was just there on Saturday, but by myself 
) and walked into Calypso, which I honestly hadn’t even realized was there. I almost didn’t try this dress on because I’ve always been “afraid” of linen, and I wasn’t sure how the dress would look on me, but I did think it would be interesting belted, so I tried it on anyway. I originally was drawn to the gray (which I will get next time Calypso has a coupon code…), but thought the navy was more impactful. I tried on the large, but ended up with the medium, because the large was just too bulky, especially belted. It’s really a “tent” dress, so it’s meant to be shapeless, but the large was just way too large, and didn’t fit right up top.
Anyway, I really love the dress, and in spite of the fact that I usually don’t like showing my upper arms, I’m comfortable with it in this dress. And it was HOT today. I am wearing a half-slip (the dress IS linen after all) and realized after my dad took this picture that I probably need to wear a tank top or cami underneath as well – or at least a more “nude” bra.
The belt is from J Crew, the shoes No.6 and the bag Alexander Wang. I just took the picture with that because it’s what I was carrying today, but I normally wouldn’t carry a black bag with navy. **gasp** call me old fashioned…
(I also went back to Madewell to exchange the striped tank top I got Saturday. A woman was walking out of the store wearing this jacket – but in a light gray – and I knew I needed to have it. I got it. Pictures later )

So, I made it out shopping this weekend – I had a 15% off coupon for Madewell I wanted to use, and it was a beautiful day Saturday to go to my local outdoor super-upscale strip mall (The Domain) LOL. Here’s what I tried on…
At Barney’s Co-Op I got an up close & personal look at the quilted luggage Alexander Wang Rocco bag, and I think I’m in love!! It seems to be a bit lighter than my bag – I think that’s because the leather is thinner – and I really love the color in person.
I also got to try on this Marc by Marc Jacobs dress I’ve had in my “hearts” section at Shopbop forever…as well as the skirt only version:
I still love the dress, but wouldn’t pay close to full price for it – the top is strange; it has “flaps” that tie together at the sides. I think it makes it interesting, but it’s unnecessary in my opinion. The pockets are placed right on the hip, and they do flare out a bit, adding a little bulk around the hip area, but all in all, the dress was pretty cute on. I think I’ll wait until I can get it for under $100 though…
And the skirt was really cute, but a little short on me – if it hadn’t been too short, I would’ve bought it in a second – it’s just the interesting, unique skirt I’m looking for.
Speaking of too short…this A.P.C. Madras dress is the CUTEST DRESS EVER…but also a little too short for me. I really hate to show my knees and this one showed too much for my comfort, but the fit was great, and the dress, just really cute. I tried it on in the pink version.
I drooled over all the Vince pieces, and vowed to start adding more Vince to my wardrobe, but ultimately left Barney’s Co-Op with nothing. I did meet a great SA named Sari who runs a personal shopping service, Pretty on the Outside, and we talked clogs apparently, I’m not the only clog addict out there…
Then, I headed over to Madewell to use my coupon. I tried on several cute tanks & tops, but always felt the fit was kind of “off.” I ended up with a great linen cardigan in pretty Spring colors that was on sale for $44 and a striped tank top. Supposedly online shopping will launch in May (can’t wait!!!). I’m going back this week to take the tank top back and pick up a belt or two…
I also drooled over these Stuart Weitzman sandals, wishing I could buy them…
But I really think I just want a comfortable pair of wedges. *gasp!!*
