So, our Internet connection was down for nearly 4 hours today…what better time to go shopping? I had been obsessing over getting another Sula paint & peel nail polish in a green or teal color since I saw them at Anthropologie the last time I was in there, so I decided to go. I did pick up the nail polish, and also this vest, which I’m in love with.
As you probably know if you’ve been looking at my outfit pictures for any time at all, I’m all about practicality when it comes to dressing: I accessorize minimally, I wear what is weather appropriate, and most of all, I want to be comfortable. And I definitely never wear vests. I mean, what’s the point? Yes, they look cool, but how do they work? What do they do? (this is my constant dilemma – I want to wear “pretty,” fun things, but my life is filled with mostly practical trips & errands. Although I know there’s nothing “wrong” with dressing up to go to the grocery store, I find it odd.)
Anyway, I had been eyeing this vest the last few times in Anthropologie and today, suddenly, it hit me what it could be great for: hiding the muffin top I get when I wear these jeans. Today, I wanted to wear my T by Alexander Wang top but definitely not with these jeans…so I was thinking a drapey vest could work over it when it’s still too warm for layering. I think this one will do the trick! (and I love the back of it)
Oh, and here is the nail polish – it’s Azure, available at Beauty Bridge (it doesn’t really look like in the photo – scroll down on this post for a more realistic view of the color). I put it on immediately when I got home (of course!!) over a generous coating of Solar Oil, but without a topcoat so it peels off easily:

I did a video review of Sula nail polish over at Green Grechen and republished it today for eco-beauty week…check it out here.
