I’ve been a fan of Hayden-Harnett since they started out, in fact I was one of the first owners of a Havana Hobo and was honored to do a review! They’ve come a LONG way since springing onto the scene, and their bags have only gotten better.
I had been itching for a gray leather bag all Summer becuase I just KNEW I would need one for Fall/Winter, and it was frankly a toss-up between this one and the Rebecca Minkoff morning after bag in Gray. Ultimately, of course, the Hayden-Harnett won out because while I love handle bags, I prefer that they also have a shoulder strap, and the Morning After didn’t. I also knew that I loved the Havana Hobo, having already owned one, and I found the HH leather to be sooo yummy…
The only sad thing about this bag is that I wear a lot of gray in the Fall/Winter (all of my Mike & Chris jackets are basically gray) so I won’t be able to wear the bag with any of those pieces (I don’t like to match), but I have enough black and other colors that it will get plenty of wear…believe me. I’ve already worn it several times and am really thrilled with how practical it is. It’s a little smaller than most of my other bags, but it sill fits everything I need; only when I add a sweater inside the bag, it’s a little snug. There are tons of pockets inside and out for holding the little stuff. I love that there are three open pockets inside the bag that fit my phone, ipod and camera PERFECTLY. The lining is not as luxurious as in previous years – it’s a little more plastic-y – but it seems very easy to clean, and lining isn’t something I really focus on, so it’s not a big deal.
Bottom line: I LOVE it.
So, after I posted about my obsession with Tory Burch’s resort collection Pink Patent Reva Ballet Flats last week, I decided to order them; they’re just the pop of color my Winter wardrobe needs. (and Spring/Summer/Fall wardrobes for that matter) I have found that I’m wearing jeans and black/gray ALL THE TIME…mostly because I love anything with gray, and also because I prefer to reserve color for my accessories. Which is not to say it wasn’t difficult for me to take the leap to pink patent shoes…it was…and I made the decision only after I put together about a million outfits I could wear them with. I kept envisioning them with everything I wore the last two weeks, and they totally worked! [click to continue…]
New online boutique Jinny is quite the find…filled with beautiful new sweaters from 3.1 Philip Lim and Ya Ya Aflalo, bags by Foley & Corinna, shoes by K. Jacques (on sale now actually), and tees by Clu. This GORGEOUS cashmere wrap by Mara Hoffman caught my eye immediately. It’s pricey, but worth it if you travel a lot, or love to wrap up!

I must admit, I have secretly been longing for a pair of Reva ballet flats from Tory Burch for several months. I was hoping the obsession would fade away eventually (along with everyone else’s), but it hasn’t. It’s concerning, frankly, because I don’t usually want what everyone else has…but in this case, there’s just something about the Reva flat that I find attractive and classic. Well, of course it’s classic, it’s Tory Burch, but classic in an exciting way, not the usual boring way. I’ve been on the verge of ordering a pair for the longest time, but I think the new pink patent version from her new Resort collection will be the ones to push me over the edge:

If these don’t, maybe the orange, or blue ones will…black, maybe.

These are all instock and ready to ship from Footnotes RIGHT NOW by the way…some other places have them backordered for at least a month…
